Their Story

Jolyon and Michelle were classmates at the UP School of Economics while taking up Masters of Arts in Economics in the SY 2006-2007. The love story started on a drinking bout with some friends in Sikatuna Village after the 1st semester midterm exams. This eventually flourished and they became an official couple on November 20, 2006. Upon the end of the school year, both of them decided to leave school and started to work. Both were hired by then Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters) and worked there for more than a year.
Thinking of a greener pasture and because of the influence of a great friend and former classmate, they flew to Dubai to try their luck. Although they were employed weeks later, people they trust started to deceit them. This triggered the start of them living together by themselves. Because of the conservative culture of Middle East countries and the fact that they are saving for the same purpose, they got civilly married in the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi on November 27, 2008 with a commitment to have a church wedding after a year or two. A few months later, on April 09, 2009, it was confirmed, after a visit to the doctor, that they were blessed with a child. Michelle was already two months pregnant then. Contrary to what others think, they got married first before the baby was conceived. On October 31, 2009, Jilian Zyre was born. This prompted them to postpone the church wedding for a few more years.
On May 28, 2012 while having dinner in a restaurant in Boracay, Jolyon proposed to Michelle. And so, the wedding planning started. They will tie the knot exactly five years after their civil wedding on November 27, 2013.
